Selmer Paris came out with the updated Super Action 80 Series II in 1986, and it is the answer to the trivia question, “What is the longest running Selmer model?” The Series II is still in production today, and is still very popular. With subtle improvements over the first series, it is a similar horn physically, but sonically these do tend to play darker.
The Series II Super Action 80s are considered by many to be the best post-Mark VI Selmer saxophone. Their consistently excellent tone quality, ergonomic keywork, and unerring attention to detail has made these saxophones some of the finest in the world.
